Statement from Filmmaker

CHIMERA is a love letter to 70's Thrillers, Sci Fi and Horror. A story dealing with themes of consent, manipulation and gaslighting. The aim was to design a film with a distinct period aesthetic, utilising vintage lenses, synthesised music and a vibrant colour palette. Through combining modern and analogue tech, we were also able to create a somewhat anachronistic world for the film. The desired effect was to create a unique and alien, sometimes disorientating environment in terms of space and time. The aesthetic was also inspired by the work of Dario Argento, John Carpenter and Panos Cosmatos. We have a wonderful team on board the project including OSCAR winning producer JULIE FOY (THE SILENT CHILD). Screenwriter DAVID LEMON (CONTAINMENT, FAINTHEART) and ANDREW SCARSBOROUGH (DOWNTON ABBEY, THE WAR BELOW)
